PORTRAIT IN SERIES project, 2006
These are some pictures I took in 2006, when I worked at the photography lab & studio on a scholarship at the Fine Arts School of UFMG (Federal University of Minas Gerais). These photos are perhaps the most irreverent and animated I've taken, despite their mundanity. At that time I was experimenting with long and multiple exposure shots, which can be seen in the studio essays with Pedro Veneroso, and also in some of the portraits. It was through these techniques that I first perceived the effect, in which I subsequently became interested, of repeating obsessively similar patterns.
B&W, 35mm. Taken with a Nikon FM2.
JARDINS EXEQUIAIS or BURIAL GARDENS project, 2010
I developed this work at the Fine Arts School of UFMG, at the Engraving Atelier in the technical of etching.
The process was to find uninhabited photographic landscapes from other photographers, to translate them into drawing and hatches, and then to engrave them.
After had made some first images, this work was interrupted. I'd like to retake it as part of a more general purpose of make a spectrum of imagetic plans - coming to constitute narratives exclusively by the relation between them and not by a discursive constraint or directioning -, of what the most recent project, the "RELAY SCRIPT, 2013", would be the last development.
